Dobbs & Company was founded in 1991 by Charlotte Dobbs. Recognized
as one of the top political and non-profit fundraising firms in
the country, we take a people-focused approach to our work that
stresses the building of long-term relationships with donors and
clients. Drawing upon our network of contacts locally and nationwide,
we seek to build the means to success for each one of our clients.

President
Charlotte
Dobbs has been a fundraising consultant since 1983. From March
1983 through January 1985, she was associated with the fundraising
firm of Catherine Unger & Associates, during which time she
helped coordinate the California fundraising efforts of U.S. Presidential
candidate Gary Hart. From January 1985 through January 1991, Charlotte
was associated with the fundraising firm of Unger/Thomas, and
on February 1, 1991, she established her own fundraising organization,
Charlotte Dobbs & Co.
With
a broad background in public relations, marketing, research, event
management, the design and implementation of long-range fundraising
strategies, direct mail campaigns, and a wide assortment of fundraising
approaches from one-on-one meetings with major donors to major
concerts, Charlotte Dobbs & Co. is a full-service fundraising
organization. During the first 10 years of operation, Charlotte
raised over $35 million for her clients.
Prior
to her association with Catherine Unger & Associates and Unger/Thomas,
Charlotte was a free-lance writer and marketing
consultant for a variety of advertising agencies, management consulting
firms, and marketing companies. She has also spent six years in
the entertainment industry in motion picture and television
development,
and
was a staff writer for two years on the ABC-TV sitcom, “Laverne
& Shirley,” as well as a staff writer
on the NBC-TV daytime soap opera, “Santa Barbara.”
Born in Cleveland,
Ohio and raised in Southern California, Charlotte graduated summa
cum laude from California State University of Fullerton in 1970
with a degree in Communications and did graduate work at the Public
Systems Research Institute, University of Southern California,
with an emphasis in the criminal justice system. She has also
traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico,
Central America, Europe and the Middle East.
