Charlotte Dobbs and Company was founded in 1991 by Charlotte Dobbs.  Recognized as one of the top political and non-profit fundraising firms in the country, we take a people-focused approach to our work that stresses the building of long-term relationships with donors and clients.  Drawing upon our network of contacts locally and nationwide, we seek to build the means to success for each one of our clients.




CHARLOTTE DOBBS
(charley@charlottedobbs.com) has been a fundraising consultant since 1983.  From March 1983 through January 1985, she was associated with the fundraising firm of Catherine Unger & Associates, during which time she helped coordinate the California fundraising efforts of U.S. Presidential candidate Gary Hart.  From January 1985 through January 1991, Charlotte was associated with the fundraising firm of Unger/Thomas, and on February 1, 1991, she established her own fundraising organization, Charlotte Dobbs & Co.

With a broad background in public relations, marketing, research, event management, the design and implementation of long-range fundraising strategies, direct mail campaigns, and a wide assortment of fundraising approaches from one-on-one meetings with major donors to major concerts, Charlotte Dobbs & Co. is a full-service fundraising organization.  During the first 10 years of operation, Charlotte raised over $35 million for her clients.

Prior to her association with Catherine Unger & Associates and Unger/Thomas, Charlotte was a free-lance writer and marketing consultant for a variety of advertising agencies, management consulting firms, and marketing companies.  She has also spent six years in the entertainment industry in motion picture and television development, and was a staff writer for two years on the ABC-TV sitcom, “Laverne & Shirley,” as well as a staff writer on the NBC-TV daytime soap opera, “Santa Barbara.”

Born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Southern California, Charlotte graduated summa cum laude from California State University of Fullerton in 1970 with a degree in Communications and did graduate work at the Public Systems Research Institute, University of Southern California, with an emphasis in the criminal justice system.  She has also traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, Europe and the Middle East. 

HOLLY WHITE (holly@charlottedobbs.com) has been with Charlotte Dobbs & Co. as an account executive since April 1992 and has managed fundraising events for political clients, as well as non-profits.  She and Stephanie Garman head up all the non-profit activities for Charlotte Dobbs & Co.  Most recently, Holly and Stephanie have managed events for the Southern California Leadership Network, the Wellness Community, AIDS Action Network, Angel’s Flight/Catholic Charities, and Free Arts for Abused Children.  Holly coordinates all silent and live auction activities for non-profits.

STEPHANIE GARMAN (stephanie@charlottedobbs.com) joined Charlotte Dobbs & Co. as an account executive in February 1995 and has taken a lead role in managing fundraising efforts for all non-profit clients.  She also coordinates the production of all tribute journals for clients and works with graphic artists in the design and production of invitations, save-the-date cards, special event stationery and additional materials.  In addition, Stephanie and Holly White write all the copy for written materials utilized in fundraising efforts for non-profits.

MAUREEN MACDONALD (maureen@charlottedobbs.com) became an account executive with Charlotte Dobbs & Co. in March 1992 and has managed a number of fundraising events for various political and non-profit clients.  From 1990-1992, Maureen coordinated the fundraising efforts in New York for the International Center for Better Health in Moscow, USSR.

ANNE PEDERSON (anne@charlottedobbs.com) is an account executive, joining Charlotte Dobbs & Co. in June 2000.  Anne was the lead contact for Janice Hahn for City Council and co-managed Los Angeles events for Hillary Clinton’s Senate Race 2000, as well as Joe Biden’s Senate Race 2002.
